The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (CREDAI) has appreciated the Ahmedabad pattern of town planning for well-planned urban development. The builders association also proposed the Maharashtra government to implement the same pattern adopted by the Ahmedabad town planning authority.
A proposal on the issue has already been sent to the President of India by the Maharashtra state government as the permission of the President of India is required for changes in the land acquisition Act and for town planning schemes.
The members of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ also planned to meet the President to urge to approve the proposal. If the new proposal implemented, the real estate development in Maharashtra will be benefited as the municipal corporation need not spend for land acquisition as it gets the land free of cost.
The town planning department will be responsible to draft the town planning scheme as well as to monitor and control the development activities in accordance with the revised development plan.
